This is a project promoting general public health improvement through Global Volunteer Network parnter in Uganda. The project will require Volunteers to travel with and work alongside Ugandan counsellors in a variety of programs, directly benefiting 10 rural communities and 7 secondary schools. Volunteers will be engaged in a combination of the following activities:
Village outreach, Secondary School outreach, and Clinical work. Village and Secondary school outreach will invove public speaking and monitoring of teenaged youths about social issues like, unwanted pregnancy, sexual education, drug abuse, HIV/AIDS and other STIs. Clinical work will include giving assitance to the medical team in place on duties like wound dressing, distribution of mosquito nets, treatment of patients, periodic HIV testing and counseling.
Total fund raised will be used to support the entire project. Fund will be used to purchase test kits, mosquito nets, and some essential generic drugs that will be distributed free to patients. High calory nutritive food suppliments will be purchased and distributed free of charge to malnurished children.
