GVN- Ethiopia

Hi Everyone,

My name is Kayla and I am with GVN- Global Volunteer Network program. I am finally going to live the dream I have always wanted to do. That's to help children and families in Ethiopia for 1 month. I plan on saving enough spending money. However, I need atleast 2,500 to cover the shortfall in my traveling costs, meals, and lodging as I begin this wonderful journey.

I have the privelege to teach the children with a focus on english and mathematic's with an aid of a local translator. Volunteer's and myself included will plan and run lesson's for the children. I will have the chance to also teach the children musical and computer skills. Involve them in team building idea's, teach them songs, and languages such as English. Involve them in in art projects as well as giving them the love and attention they desperately need. I hope to provide the children with the basic necessities like love, food, clothing, and shelter. But most of all Education.

I hope to have enough money saved by June, 2013. I hope that family, friends and complete strangers will understand that this would be a dream come true and I pray and hope I'll be able to achieve this one and a lifetime experience.
