Late Min Bahadur Rai was born in 1969 at China Makhu Village, Bhojpur District Eastern Nepal. He joined the Indian Armed Forces in 1988 and retired as Sergeant (Havildar) in 2006.
Following his retirement, he served in Iraq and at the British Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan. He joined IDG Security (Afghanistan) in 2014 and served as an International Armed Guard.
Late Min Bahadur Rai was a very loyal, honest and extremely hard working individual. He died in action at the United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS) compound on 20 May 2016 while he was on duty at Sentry Post No 1 (Tower).
Late Min Bahadur Rai was a resident of Daran, Sunsari, Nepal. He leaves behind his mother, wife, daughter, and son.
Everyone at the United Nations in Kabul was saddened by the tragic loss of Min Bahadur Rai, as a much valued member of our community he shall be greatly missed.
