Dante Gulapa has been making rounds as a meme all over facebook for the last 2 years. But recently made more popular by mainstream social media and also made it to TV shows and lots of guesting.

But beyond being known from his macho dancing moves and “eagle dance,” he is also in a predicament making him more human than the rest of us.

“His own mother left him when he was 3 years old. Due to extreme poverty, he only finished Grade 6. As a kid, he slept in the premises of a rail transit where he was a "solvent boy". People called him “pokpok” for being a macho dancer at a young age. He and his wife accumulated a huge debt, leaving them unable to pay for rent and food. Their shelter was so small that when they slept, their feet touched the wall. They used to have meals where they divide one can of sardines for the whole family.

This is the guy who brought joy and laughter in our timelines with his macho dancing videos. It's true when they say that the people who have it the roughest make the most people happy.” -RJ Carbonell
