Our aim is simple. Bring Guia back to the UK so she can live in Manchester with the Schofields to be fed, protected and loved for he rest of her life.

Guia is our beautiful adopted 7 month old puppy. We first met her in the mountains of Ecuador in the small town of Quilotoa where she was living on the streets. She lead us on our first walk where we got inspiration for her name which means 'guide' in Spanish. 4 days and over 60km later, she's still at our side still showing loyalty and giving us protection, enduring Baltic temperatures and several fights to stick by us. The life of an Ecuadorian street dog is not always a happy one; rabies is common and we've witnessed several people kick and throw objects at the dogs from her town. We're trying to provide her with a happier life.

The amazing charity, Arthur Foundation, recognises the situation for dogs in Ecuador and is in the process of assisting us with getting her to England in full health. However the costs are high and the process is lengthy. We will need to raise £2000 to cover all fees but we cannot cover it all alone. (See breakdown below.)

We know it seems crazy but once a bond is formed with a dog, it's heart wrenching to part ways, especially when parting ways means that the dog will go back to a life of having to fight everyday just for survival. We're not asking for a lot- 20p or £20 will go a long way to bringing her home.

Thank you so much.

David, Hattie and Morty.

Everyone who donates will be sent updates on Guia's progress and a big thank you from all of us for making this happen.

Breakdown:

Veterinary fees (initial) £125

3 months kennels in Ecuador £800

Titer blood test £100

Flight to Heathrow, UK ~£500

Airport handling fees £390

Pet carrier crate ~£100

We are working with the Arthur Foundation to try and bring these costs down. This includes doing a TV interview in Ecuador to try and raise money. Hopefully the overall amount will be less than stated. Thank you for your help.
