The World Association of Sign of Sign Language Interpreters (WASLI) will be hosting their next conference in Paris in the summer of 2019 and to support WASLI with its work we plan to cycle from London to Paris to attend the WASLI conference and to raise money for their Special Attendance fund.
Since 2003 WASLI has been advocating and advancing the profession of sign language interpreting worldwide. It has provided valuable assistance in the establishment of interpreting associations and training programmes. WASLI conferences are recognised as an opportunity for interpreters across the globe to gather and to collectively problem solve how we deliver our services.
The WASLI Special Attendance fund supports those people who are working with the Deaf community but do not have the financial resources to attend conferences. Our ambition is to raise funds to enable their attendance and widen participation. Throughout 2018 we will be organising a number of fund raising events - keep an eye out for updates!
