Grief to survival! Help children swim!

What if you could be a part of the solution? What if you could prevent drowning before it happened? I currently work as a Certified Child Life Specialist in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at a children’s hospital and I have seen the very traumatic, life changing situation when a child isn’t able to save themselves and ultimately drowns. I have seen it too many times to count. I so often am doing retroactive education for families about swim safety, far too many child handprints for families that are leaving the hospital without their child and finally decided to be a part of the solution. If you know anything about the profession of child life, you know that we are paid less than a teachers salary. (I know, hard to believe). So, I am hoping to raise the funds necessary for my training to become an ISR instructor. ISR has been around for 50 years and is the primary resource for swim safety. I have already gone through the interview process and have been accepted into the program and the last step is getting trained.
