What if you could be a part of the solution? What if you could prevent drowning before it happened? I currently work as a Certified Child Life Specialist in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at a children’s hospital and I have seen the very traumatic, life changing situation when a child isn’t able to save themselves and ultimately drowns. I have seen it too many times to count. I so often am doing retroactive education for families about swim safety, far too many child handprints for families that are leaving the hospital without their child and finally decided to be a part of the solution. If you know anything about the profession of child life, you know that we are paid less than a teachers salary. (I know, hard to believe). So, I am hoping to raise the funds necessary for my training to become an ISR instructor. ISR has been around for 50 years and is the primary resource for swim safety. ISR stands for Infant Swim Research and you can find more information about the company through their website: infantswim.com. I have already gone through the interview process and have been accepted into the program and the last step is getting trained. Please join me in helping children be able to save themselves until someone finds them and not when it’s too late. Thank you for your consideration and taking the time to read through this! It takes a village!
