Greychan’s Struggles

Ever since he lost his father in his early teens, my nephew Greychan had to stop his schooling and now at 37 years old he has been struggling to eke out a living by taking odd jobs and driving a tricycle to provide for his young family in the outskirts of Vigan, Ilocos Sur, northern Luzon. Bel, his wife, also takes in laundry to help and send their two daughters to school: Germaine is 11 and Gilliane is 8. His widowed mother, my younger sister, provides what she can with her salary earned from a teaching job at a public school.

As you can imagine it is already a hard life for him and could not get any worse until he was recently diagnosed with multiple organ cancer and turned his situation from bad to almost unbearable. He is currently being treated in a public hospital and his medical expenses are mounting and could easily balloon into hundreds of thousands depending on how aggressive his sickness and his treatment will be. It is for this reason that we would like to seek out kind hearted people like yourselves to help out in anyway you can. This fund raiser will supplement what meager resources our extended family can come up with (we fear it would be no where near the amount needed for his treatment and the support for his family).
