Campaign Story
As many of you know, I will be competing in Ironman Lake Placid on July 23. This consists of a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride and 26.2 mile run in the Adirondack mountains. Yes, it's all in the same day. No, I don't get to sleep between legs. Yes, I am also wondering what is wrong with me.
I have decided to dedicate my journey to a hospital which has helped some very dear friends and their children. Two of these friends are Kenny and Kristy, who are currently being assisted by Shriner's hospital with rehabilitative thereapy after their beautiful daughter, Briar, sustained a birth injury. Another two, Zach and Amy, also have been to Shriner's many times to help with their rockstar son, Nicholas, who was born with the rare condition Poland syndrome. These treatments were done with little or no cost to the parents.
Shriner's Hospital helps hundreds of kiddos on a daily basis and without putting a financial burden on the patients or families. This is a beautiful thing when unexpected circumstances happen. This organization hits close to home for me and close friends, and has helped these young ones live a little easier. It has also taken a lot of stress off their parents.
Let's get some money donated to a great cause.
