My father, Gregory Reynolds, was diagnosed with NASH (fatty liver) cirrhosis in February of 2015. At the time of his diagnosis, he did not know he was sick. He woke up in the middle of the night, vomiting blood, and from then on, everything changed. He lost half of his blood volume that day and was admitted into the hospital for 7 days and was diagnosed with cirrhosis.
Dad was pretty stable until October 2017. He was diagnosed with a bone infection and had to stop working and has been off of work ever since. After being hospitalized in October, November, December, and in March with an abdominal fluid infection and blood infection, he has been evaluated at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio and has been placed on the transplant list as of May 3rd.
For those of you who do not know Greg, he is the most kind, loving, and wonderful person I have ever met. When my sister and I were growing up, he always made sure we were taken care of to the fullest extent and attended every special occasion...dance recitals, basketball games, spelling bees...I could go on and on!
I have started this campaign to try and help Dad with medical related expenses that insurance does not cover, including travel, food, hotel stay, etc and to help him in every day life.
My dad is also needing a living liver donor. His numbers are not "bad" enough for him to be high on the transplant list and there are 1,000 others on the list with him. His donor needs to be between 18 and 60 years old, A or O blood type, and in good health. If you or anyone you know would like more information on donation, please contact me!
From all of us in the Reynolds Family, we thank you for taking the time to read about Greg's story, donating, and sharing!
