HELLO - and thank you for your time.
We are Elaine and Brian and together, we have been working in our family business for the past 20 years, specializing in finding design and development solutions to grow plants using less water.
Following business travels to different parts of the world we became aware of the plight of people, who were unable to feed themselves, even though land was available, due to poor soil quality and water shortage.
So we decided in 2013 to use the skills of our team and investigate the possibility of developing a plant growing system which would grow plants in, poor soil, in a way which would save water and eradicate the need to use pesticides which helps protect the environment.
We found our answer with the development of the CELPODTM growing system which achieves all these objectives in a very effective way. Brian, who is our inventor designer was granted two patents for the CELPOD developments, the first in 2016 and the second in 2017.
The CELPOD developments are now being commercially produced.
Following the granting of the two patents, we were approached to develop educational products based on the patents, particularly to teach children about the importance of plants in our everyday lives.
It is common knowledge that education reduces poverty, boosts economic growth, which leads to higher income levels and increases a person’s chance of a healthy life.
So we accepted the challenge and enthusiastically invested in the “Little GREENGROWER” project.
The project provides 2 FREE specifically designed “GREENGROWERS”, for use indoors by a class of 30 children for each school. The “greengrowers” can continually be re-used - just needs replacement seeds, nutrients and water.
The aim of our Schools Project is to contribute to children’s learning and education, by teaching how plants grow and their importance in the wider implications of climate change.
The project shows how technology can help the environment by introducing an alternative way of growing plants and this is achieved by introducing children to the science of hydroponics, in a “hands on” fun way, being able to grow plants without soil, as one answer to food shortages due to the effects of climate changes.
Children will learn about how plants grow from seeds, the importance of water, nutrients and photosynthesis and that a plant is a living organism.
We all know how curious children become when they see something new and being able to experience plants growing, knowing they can take their own seedlings home and replant them, means they can connect with the project in a personal way.
“We think it makes a pretty cool science project, hope you agree too!”
To help us introduce our Schools Project we are looking for a little help to raise £12000 to cover final costs of product tooling and accessory equipment.
Going forward, the Schools Project will be funded by business donations, further personal donations and revenue earned from a small charge being levied on all worldwide commercial sales of the CELPODTM plant growing system.
SO PLEASE HELP US AND DONATE TO THIS UNIQUE PROJECT
Many thanks and god bless you generous people. Elaine & Brian November 2019 UK.
