Hello my name is Tyrell Flattery, I live and work with my mother Clare on a
100% eco/organic farm in Ghanzi Botswana, where we follow the permaculture
lifestyle and now want to introduce biodynamic farming. We pump our own
borehole and power all our requirements with solar energy. We also recycle
materials (collected in town) for building our house, chicken coops etc. We
grow most of our own food in terms of vegetables, salads, fruit, herbs and
raise chickens, ducks, geese and goats. We also pickle, dry, preserve and
ferment - kefir and kombucha and make bread, yogurt and cheese.

We only employ one regular and occasionally one extra farm worker. Our
only income is from what we can barter/sell so cash is always short
especially as we live 'off grid' and have built our own house - which is
still not finished. Our main cash crops are garlic, eggs, vegetables,
herbs/herbal products and preparations. I am a qualified Reflexologist and
have a small Client base in Ghanzi.

We encourage many visitors to the farm (also Host Volunteers from WWOOF) to
learn and live the sustainable, simple and abundant way of life. We should
like to have more visitors eg school children and hold weekend courses on
eco farming and eco tourism. Before we can do this we need to achieive the
following:

Additional water storage tank, stand and reticulation/irrigation. Net/shade
houses - the insects, pests and Botswana sun are very challenging. House
completion and maintenance. New multi purpose residential building and
ablution block. Small trailer and tow hitch for our 1 small vehicle and
need to build a simple new farm shed/barn for stock feed, tools and
drying/storage of produce.

Total cost (with our own labor and maximum recycling) US$12000.00

All and any Donations would be highly appreciated. Thank you!
