Hi, My name is Rohini. I am from India. Like all of you I have a nice and small family which includes me, my younger bro, my mama, my dad, my auntie (dad's younger sis) and Ajji (my paternal granny - we call her Ajji). My Ajji's name is Shakunthala and Auntie's name is Meenu. My Ajji was born and brought up in a small villege in India in a dirt poor family where Electricity and water is scarce. She stuggled her whole life for earning enough to support education and marriage of her 5 childern (including My father and auntie). She never left the the state where she was born and married. Unfortunately after education and marriage all of her selfish children except my father abandoned her. She is now 76 years and staying with us. Our family's sources of income are limited. I am studying MSc( Master of Scienc ) as well as working part-time to support my family. My father is a small time businessman. My younger brother is a bright engineering student who's studies are supported by state funded scholarship scheme for the falmilies with low income and works in summer break to earn much needed extra money for family. My mother and Auntie are not educated much and do small contract works and cook food at home for money. We're really in difficult situation with almost no hope because of the health condition of my Ajji and Auntie. My Ajji is sufferring from following health complications 1) High blood pressure 2) Gallstones (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gallstone) She has been operated once for removal of gallstones. 3) Cataract She had cataract in both of her eyes. One has been operated and removed. Another is yet to be operated due to lack of funds. My Ajji is already operated twice due to health complications and as you can see one operation is still pending due to lack of funds. One of the operations was funded by state and some assistance from a charitable organisation. My Aunt Meenu sufferred her whole life the complications arising due to faulty valve in the heart. When we had saved some money we had to choose between her life and my Engineering education. We chose to save her and I sacrificed my engineering education to save her. She's still unmarried and 46. As of now the lives of both have been saved and they are doing quite good. But post operation care also costs a lot as the concept of Health/Medical insurace is quite unknown in India. Both of them need medicines and doctor's consultation after surgery. It costs us almost 6000 INR (100$ approx.) per month. I heard of Crowdfunding campaigns from my friend when she suggested me to start a small campaign for medical funds needed for my Ajji and Aunt. This campaign is the last resort for my Ajji and Aunt as our sources of income are really limited and we are merely able to afford food and shelter for all 6 of us. I would really appreciate any sort of help. If you can help please help, if not I can understand and I really appreaciate your time for reading my story.
