Graham Mitchell Memorial Fund

Dear Friends and Family of Scott, Sandy (Summerford) Mitchell and Graham Mitchell,

As most of you know by now, Graham Mitchell, beloved son of Scott and Sandy, went home to be with Jesus on Monday, December 16, 2013. Everyone who knows Scott, Sandy or Graham, loves this dear family deeply. They are dear friends to so many and true servants of Christ. At times like these, we often find ourselves saying, "I wish there was something I could do to help!" Well, this is an opportunity for you and me to help in a very concrete way.

As we can all imagine the funeral and burial costs as well as the costs to transport Graham's body from MN to GA will be quite significant. As friends and brothers and sisters in Christ, we are starting a fund to help Scott and Sandy absorb these expenses.

As most of you know, Scott and Sandy live on limited income due to Scott's disability. And while they themselvese would NEVER ask for help, as friends, we know that the need is very real. Scott served faithfully as Senior Pastor of New River Community Church for many years before needing to step down a couple of years ago, due to his rapidly declining health. Sandy works third shift at UPS to help provide for the family, juggling her hours there with her time to care for Scott at home.

This site (gogetfunding.com) provides an easy and convenient way for us to contribute toward the expenses for Graham's funeral. With the click of a few buttons you can donate any amount to help make a difference for this dear family. Our goal was to raise $5,000, but we have since learned that the costs are in excess of $12,000! Through gogetfunding.com, you can pay with your debit/credit card or pay with Paypal.

If you would rather pay with a check, you can send it to our church, Grace Bible Church, Attention: Scott Mitchell Family; 3322 Rainbow Drive, Rainbow City, AL 35906. (PLEASE DO NOT MAIL CASH). Make all checks payable to "Grace Bible Church" and designate it for "Scott Mitchell Family". Please include Contact Information to receive a receipt. All monies will be under the supervision of our elders at Grace Bible Church and our Financial Committee, and will be sent completely and directly to Scott and Sandy.

Also, some churches are considering taking a "Love Offering" for the Mitchell's. If you are a pastor or a leader in your church, we urge you to consider this. If you do, you can, of course, mail the receipts directly to Scott and Sandy, or if you'd rather send it through our church, use the address above, and we will send it directly to the Mitchells, and provide you with full accounting.
