My name is Maselaelo and I was a student at Wits University. I completed my LLB degree in December 2020. My love for law generated from growing up in a family that was so passionate about education and justice. My father was a prosecutor himself, he studied law at Turfloop University and that is the connection I now have with him, since he passed away in a tragic car accident in 1995 months before I was born. I am told by many of his passion for justice and excellency in all that he did and that very same passion runs through my veins.
The only thing that connects us is our love for law and this is why I chose to study law. He was passionate about justice because of the society he lived in where being black was a default of not getting justice. We live in a country scarred by injustice from the past and all that injustice stemmed from the laws in place at that time. My grandfather taught me about the power of the law which could either work for the good or for the bad. I then started to have a love and passion for law and justice. I am passionate about racial and gender equality. I would appreciate any form of funding which could assist me in pursuing my dream of being an advocate. I have completed my degree in 2018 of Com Insurance & Risk Management (Specializing in Law). I am passionate about education hence I am pursuing further education in Law (LLB) and the goal is to graduate in 2020. I would greatly appreciate funding.
