Gracie needs help with diagnostic testing

Gracie, a 9 month old pit bull puppy was born with a cleft lip/palate. But this is not the reason we need help. She eats just fine. Her issue is she has chronic diarrhea. After speaking at length with her vet today we discovered that the meds she has been on have not helped at all and there is something more serious going on. Her body is not processing the food and all the meds she is on to slow down the intestines are not working at all. To find out what is happening we need to do a few tests which are costly. Her first appointment is this Thursday 7/7/16 and we are starting with a Barium Xray and Blood panel. The cost of these 2 tests are $300. If they find the issue, we stop there at the testing and move on to surgery which has to be done ASAP. Surgery is starting at $500 and will go up from there.

If those tests don't show what they are looking for we move onto an ultrasound which costs $400.

If the testing shows what the issue is and can be treated surgically we want to move ahead ASAP.

Worse case scenario, she has a liver shunt which is congenital and cannot be fixed so I will keep her and not find her a home and try to make her comfortable until she passes away. If that is the case, she will not have a long life. But it will be a quality life.

She is an 9 month old puppy who for the first time since she left the nest is being a DOG. Not chained up, not living in a crate all day long locked up in another room away from everyone, but allowed to freely roam and play and sleep in a bed with other dogs and a human. To be loved as she should have been from the start.
To be free to tear up a dog bed and eat a lamp cord without fear of being beaten or yelled at.
Because the truth is, she may not be able to be repaired. She may not live long enough to have the life she so deserves. But I believe in my heart that she deserves this chance.

Sure, I could put her down now and save many more in her place for that amount, but I chose to save her. She is worth it.
I am a freaking mess right now faced with this.
