Gosia’s Health #CANCERfree

Update posted by Marcin Malecki On May 26, 2017

Every time it is a different experience. The procedure takes only few minutes and I know it. But still I feel tense and nervous. When I am not relaxed I feel more pain. The procedure was as usual but this time the chemo injected into my tumour knocked me down. Even though I had my glasses on , my vision was blurry for over 4 hours. During the 3 hour rest I was so exhausted that I could not open my eyes, so I slept. The side effects were much stronger than previously. I experienced nausea, tiredness and lack of willpower. And I am losing more and more of my hair. It took me a week and a half to get my energy back. But the good news is that the breast tumour is changing its structure, and the cancer is less active in my spine. I am pain free and I can move normally. Phew. One more to go (9th June).

Thank you so so much for all your support and donations.

I came back from Germany yesterday night. This was my second time in Frankfurt and 6th time in Munich. The treatment in Munich was going so well until this time. My veins are too small for such a big needle, and it was a problem to collect the blood. It looks like there is only one big vein on my left hand. Normally the collection takes 3 hours and this time it was 5. But they did it. Phew.

Frankfurt next day - and my second round of chemoembolization. I must say I was a bit scared after the first time. It wasn't a pleasant experience. The procedure is done with local anaesthesia to my groin area where is a main arterial vein. Thought this vein the chemo is injected straight to my breast tumor. I can watch it all on the big screens in front of me. I have to lay straight without moving my leg for 3 hours after the procedure. And this time I was just sleeping for 2.5 hour. I felt relieved. Next appointment 12th of May.
