Gorilla Conservation Camp Research

Hello all! My name is Vishakha Vasuki and I'm currently in Uganda as a volunteer and research fellow working with Conservation Through Public Health(CTPH) which is a grassroots Ugandan based NGO and non-profit established in 2003 that promotes biodiversity conservation by enabling people, wildlife and livestock to coexist through improving their health and livelihoods in and around protected areas in Africa. I will be tracking gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park everyday, collecting faecal samples and analysing them for any diseases that may cause a threat to humans, livestock or gorillas.I also plan to visit communities, talk to them and make them understand the importance of sanitation and disease transmission. This project would take three months and I'm falling short of funds to complete it successfully. I am now seeking your support to help me achieve my dream of bringing a positive change in wildlife conservation medicine. The money raised will go towards buying reagents for the research and to the coffee farmers of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park who grow coffee as a part of CTPH'S social enterprise - Gorilla Conservation Coffee.
