The past few months the Global Online Open has been a source of great entertainment for the West Coast Swing Community. It has also served as an amazing way to promote the dance all over the world.

There was a business plan to fund the project through a paid voting system and by selling advertisements. After the launch of the online open it became very apparent that the community wasn't happy with that model and there were issues of accessibility for international viewers and fairness for international competitors.

The voting system was quickly changed to a free system which left no source of revenue for the project to cover expenses and prize money other than a donation system that was implemented and advertising sales. Major thanks and appreciation to those that have sponsored this project already.

The last thing I want to do is change the prize money that was promised to the competitors! They have worked so hard and have provided so much entertainment. I will honor what they were promised out of my own pocket if I have to.

I am just asking for your help. Any little bit helps.

Hopefully I will find a business model that works so that I can do a season two of this contest that I love so much!
