Going Up

My business, Historically Sew by Wendy Moyer, has been growing at a steady rate but it is time for me to to take it to the next level and expand into having an employee and reaching out into more of the bespoke items.

Bespoke clothing & household items are becoming increasing popular. I recently opened an Etsy shop in addition to my facebook page for the business and my word of mouth to help with my expansion in what was old is back~the world of living history and the retro look is gaining everyday! Ready made however is also popular so having a stock of some items that are not custom made will allow me to help support my family!

This past summer I was forced to consider taking my company from something that I was able to have fun with to a need for my family when my husband became ill with what the drs can only say was a form of a TIA. My husband was unable to work for over two months and we had to scrape by on what he had from short term diasbaility and a bit we had saved up for our daughter's upcoming wedding, which is still coming up in a few months but we had to change a great deal from what we hoped to give her.

Of course I am only one person and I could not take my business from hobby to full time overnight. I had to be able to go to my husband's appointments as well down in Philadelphia. We also have a special needs son, the main reason I stopped working full time OUTSIDE the house, that needs supervision when he is not at school but I was able to bring some funds to help!

I have a woman who is helping me as an independant contractor now - but no funds to purchase a stock of fabrics to make items up for sale, dress forms (both male & female) as I only have one left after two of my vintage ones became un-repairable. I do not qualify for loans as my company has not been around long enough with a large profit to meet those requirements.

I am a hard worker - I just need a hand to make grow my company...so I can help my family both financially and be there for our son when he is home. I don't have a great deal to offer you right now but I will say I have always tried my best to pay it forward and will continue to do so - Thanks you and God Bless!
