While I'm back here for three months in dusty Dhaka, Bangladesh, and with a bit of free time on days off and in the evenings, I thought it would be decent to set up a page to raise some ongoing funds to support as many homeless, hungry and underprivileged citizens of Dhaka as I possibly can.

Why?
I was here in 2015 on a voluntary placement with VSO ICS and made great progress in rural Bangladesh within those three months. The placement inspired me to start an organization back home in the UK, which is under way as of this moment and is the reason for bringing me back.

So, to make the cause all the more worth while, me and some of the other in-country volunteers from my 2015 placement will be raising a few pennies to physically go out and supply food and water for the those families, elderly men and women, children and physically and mentally disabled citizens that struggle every day here.

Just around the corner from where I'm staying there are small camps made up of salvaged bamboo and plastic bags, children playing in pools of garbage whilst their elderly carers sift through scraps for anything that seems remotely edible.

Last month there was a fire that broke out in a slum in the city and left around 100 shanties in ashes. Life for those living there is tough enough as it stands.

There is always a hand needed and we want to provide it with your help!

How?
Food and water here is SO cheap, so even saving a couple of pints at the pub can feed THREE hungry people for a day.

We will spend some time with families and individuals, play games with the children and generally get to know the stories of those we help together and you will hear all about it!
