Go Ryder – Moving Differently

Problem Statement

Between January and July 12, 2016 alone, the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) recorded 295 deaths of motor cyclists, a 31 per cent jump from a similar period in 2015.

In Kenya, Nairobi has been ranked second in the world among cities with the worst traffic situation, according to a report from Numbeo, a website which collects user- contributed data about cities and countries worldwide.

In addition to these problems, most businesses and individuals lack a reliable source of delivery services.

The only common solution to this according to our survey, most of them have contact information of a single rider who often is used to offer this service.Which is essentially not even a solution because, the rider is at times unreliable to deliver because he is a one man team, secondly you have no way of knowing where this person is, lastly, your item might not get delivered on time or if the customer cannot afford to use a taxi, they will most likely have to leave their office to hail a motorcycle across the road.

Go Ryder Story

My name is Ian Mutiso Mbotela, I am a lawyer and a business consultant. My dream is to be an entrepreneur who brings a viable solution to a recurrent problem.

As of 8th August 2017, over 400 deaths have already been reported by NTSA resulting from motor cycles.

New data by the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) show that deaths among motor-cyclists is now the fastest rising among all categories of road users, including pedestrians, motor vehicle drivers and their passengers as well as pedal cyclists.

In Kenya, there is no form of technology, service that can assure that passenger of a Motor Cyclist, that he or she is being driven by a legitimate rider,the license of the rider is valid, and the rider has an insurance.

I believe Go Ryder is a viable solution to this problem and that is why Vine Capital Limited, under my leadership, we have opted to solve these problem facing Kenya's major cities.

What will be our goal?

I intend to package our service to not only have safer rides for Kenyans, be a reliable delivery service option by being the most trusted name in the motor rides and delivery industry.

In my market analysis, S.W.O.T, we have the complete advantage to deliver a new service, create a trusted name, and more interestingly create a significant market share by being the best by offering the best solutions.

Where are we at with Go Ryder?

Go Ryder is a the concept stage. I am currently outsourcing the App Development to Muva

I am looking for your money to have the App and USSD version well developed and launched within two months.

Our 60 day project plan, is to have Go Ryder in an incubator. This can only happen if we have a successful Beta.

Your monies will go along way in creating a successful, IOS/Android and a USSD platform.

In order to create an incentive, as the founder of Go Ryder, I will offer our crowd funders the first opportunity to get in to the Series A funding in exchange for equity.

Impact of Go Ryder

Normally, people in Kenya love to ride motor cycle but the problem comes in to the safety during the rides, the awkward bidding of an agreed price with the rider and the hailing process for one. We are looking to offer safer rides, better prices with no need to bid and a successful USSD process for those who do not use smartphones.

Sustainability of Go Ryder

Our begining for our endgame is for Go Ryder is to be to be in major cities that need a market-based solution to solve transportation challenges – we want to be making cities smarter! Our model can work in many other countries a well.

The Go Ryder app will calculate a fair, standard, and transparent price on every ride. When you input your destination into the app, it will give you a price estimate based on distance. After the trip, the app will calculate a final price based on distance and time.

This will also be translated to the USSD process. Go Ryder will take 15% out of every ride & or delivery.
