US$840.00raised of $3,200.00 goal goal
I rescued my horse, Guapo, in early June of 2017. He was the worst case of neglect I have seen. His hooves were so overgrown that he was immobile and he had been kept in solitary confinement for the majority of his life. His recovery was not simply physical, he had extreme mental hurdles to overcome in order to learn how to acclimate and socialize as a horse. In just eight months I have managed to get him almost completely back to normal - healthy, happy, mobile, social, and with healthy hooves. This task has not been easy, and the financial strain has been immense. I was not looking to take on this task, but was unable to turn him away when my farrier brought him to me looking for someone to help. Needless to say I accepted the challenge and couldn't be happier that I did.
His recovery has consisted of extensive hoof correction, lots of medication, supplements, feed, rehabilitation time, along with time spent addressing his physical ailments. He is improving daily but there is still much more work to accomplish. The funds from this campaign will help to cover vet costs, supplements, feed, and the training necessary to fully rehabilitate this horse. We have come a very long way and with a little help we can give this animal to best chance possible to live out the remainder of his years as he deserves - healthy, social, and under the saddle.
