Forests in Uganda are being depleted at an alarming rate, experts estimate that there will be no forests left in 30 years from now mainly due to the household use of charcoal and firewood, our plan is to start producing improved cook stoves which use coffee, rice, coconut husks and other related biomass which are mainly byproducts of agricultural produce

I am currently working on a prototype of an improved cook stove which can boil water at the same time cook a meal for a family of 5/7 people in the shortest time possible.

I need Equiepment that can cut and bend galvanized sheet metal plates to the required sizes and welding machines and other related pieces like 12 volts batteries that can be charged by solar panes

The stove I envisage to mass produce is environmentally friendly, has very low emissions almost smoke free blue flame and best of all produces Biochar which can be used in the gardens to help keep soil fertility as well as retaining moisture in the ground for better yields

The cost of the stove will be such that it is affordable at the grassroot level both in urban and rural areas where charcoal and firewood is mostly used, users will sell back the Biochar to us at a price which we shall agree upon thus recovering the initial cost of the stove or an agreement can be worked out where the cost can be slowly deducted on every kilo of Biochar collected which I think is a win win situation for all parties

The Biochar will then be mixed with organic fertilizers and sold to farmers for better crop yields

With time we intend to expand our operations to the whole of East African region because we have similar demands for charcoal and firewood which are putting to much pressure on the available forests as a result of growing population
