In summer 2015 I'm planning a 1500km cycling trip from around the Black Sea from Kiev, Ukraine to Istanbul, Turkey trough Moldova, Romania and Bulgaria. Interesting thing that I'll be travelling on a fixed geat track bike, which makes it even harder.
General information about the trip
Kiev – Odessa – 475 km
Odessa – Belgorod-Dnestrovsky – 85 km
Belgorod-Dnestrovsky – Ismail- 175 km
Ismail – Braila – 110 km
Braila – Silistra – 149 km
Silistra – Varna – 141 km
Varna – Burgas – 129 km
Burgas – Kirklareli – 129 km
Kirklareli – Istanbul – 196 km
The total distance is about 1600 km through Ukraine, Moldova, Romania, Bolgaria and Turkey.I'm planning to cover this distance in about 16 days (10 days of cycling and 6 rest days).
My motivation is pushing myself to the limit. My current record is about 750 km on a bike. On this trip the total distance will be over 1500 km. Also the countries on the way are quite exotic and interesting. I’d like to know more about their culture. With this project I want to help popularise cycling in our country. Inspire people to use bikes not only for travelling but also for everyday use.
I have a lot of experience in travelling on bicycles. I’ve travelled to Minsk, Belorussia from Kiev (500 km), from Kiev to Odessa (475 km), from Kiev to Lvov (600 km) and from Chop, Ukraine to Budapest, Hungary and around lake Balaton, Hungary (750 km). Aside from that I have a lot of experience in hiking trips to mountains, climbing, kayaking trips, marathon running and other different adventures. About all this you can read in my blog http://gofurther.com.ua/.
