Help Sophie Pursue her Postgraduate Degree in CyberSecurity

Hello,

My Name is Sophina Kio-Lawson and i am an information security enthusiast. I am so thrilled to have been offered an admission from the prestigious Royal Holloway University of London, United Kingdom.

My enthusiasm and interest for information security increased in the year 2015 just immediately after college, with stories of fraudulent attacks from cyber criminals on financial institutions becoming more rampant, and email phishing attacks and smishing (sms phishing) taking a great rise on innocent people, with the perpetrators going Scot free.

These past incidents have gone on to further increase my hunger for protecting the network infrastructure within our financial institutions, healthcare centers, educational system and more as well as being that young female leader other young girls can look up to. I want to be that person who is able to see and fix those attacks when they happen. and I believe before you start breaking stuff you need to know how they operate by learning how to create them too.

Between the time I picked up an interest in information security until this time, I have gone on to improve myself greatly through self development and taking up work experiences as a security analyst, security auditor, setting up an initiative for young african women interested in cybersecurity, and recently as a bug hunter where i help find flaws and bugs on web applications (examples of such include Ticketswap -largest ticketing company in the UK, IKEA - the biggest furniture retail company in the world, and the Deutsch netherland government website).

I believe with a Masters Degree programme in information security, i would be able to achieve more because i would have access to more resources and network to hone my skills and channel that energy to propose and even create better structures in Africa within the information security industry;

A programme with such magnitude, comes with its expenses and although i have been able to save a bit, what i have may not be sufficient for this programme and for this i'm using this medium to kindly ask for your support and donations in any way possible to enable me pursue my dreams further.
