Glory Batugal Brain Surgery & Recovery Fund

Update posted by Kristina Cara Frayco On Jul 19, 2019

4 days ago today, our Mama Glo got re-admitted post-op brain surgery. She is now able to communicate and is showing better progress than the last time she as discharged.

It was found that her brain was not swelling, rather it is actually a size of a teenagers brain (which is good thing, I think). The doctor said that as we age, our brain shrinks. In her case, her big brain had no space with all the liquid used to wash-out the bleeding post-op. IV meds helped her skin absorb that liquid and now, she is able to carry on a conversation. She forgets words sometimes but she makes an effort to try and remember. She was smiling and laughing a lot when my sister visited her a couple days back.

She will stay in the hospital for continuous monitoring and medication. Doctors want to see her progress before ordering discharge.

Thank you all for praying with us and supporting our Mama Glo! We continue to raise funds for her medical needs and recovery aid. God bless your kind and generous hearts!

Today, Mama Glo went to the neurologist for a follow-up after getting discharged from the hospital a few days ago. It was observed that she was unable to speak much. Either she knows the word but struggling to say it or she is trying to recall the word but couldn't remember. CT scan was prescribed today and doctor saw that brain was swollen. She was re-admitted for IV medication and close monitoring.

Please continue to pray with us for her complete and smooth recovery. Thank you and God bless you all!

Staples are out and wound looks great!

Yesterday, I got to talk to Mama Glo and caught up with her progress. She is able to have a conversation, patience is important because there are moments she cannot seem to remember the words she wants to say but you can see in her eyes that she is thinking it. She smiles and laughs at every moment this happens in a conversation. I am just happy that she is still optimistic and hopeful.

Thank you everyone for praying with our family. This is a journey that we continue to pray to be a smooth recovery and that our family continues to be a source of peace, strength and hope for Mama Glo to get better.

We continue to seek for help in providing her medical needs towards full recovery, we continue to appeal to your kind hearts.

Today, our Mama Glo got her dressing out and has been given bathroom privileges. No more diaper! No more bed pan! She is scheduled to have her staples removed by Thursday and we hope to bring her home by then.

Until next update! Thank you all for your prayers, kindness and generosity!
