About Me

Hi! I am Paarth Jha, a student from Jaipur, in 11th standard, PCM.

So the first time I heard about coding, was the time I knew immediately that this is my thing. I used to sit 3-4 hours on my PC everyday, just coding around, making softwares that make no sense, but the mere though of coding motivated me. Artificial Intelligence is my first love. I watch AI videos, read AI articles, everyday. This love kept growing more and more. And I love to watch cricket and play guitar. I've been playing guitar since I was in 5th class; yep that's five years.

Then life happened. My father died in 2008 and since then my Mom has been working so our family can survive. My sister, older than me is currently seeking job in Delhi and I'm studying in 11th. We used to live in Ajmer, but I had to move to Jaipur, so I can pursue my goal of JEE. I'm studying in Allen Career Institute.

My mom had to take a lot of loans for me and my sister's education. Her school, college, now my school and college after 2 years. Mom hasn't been able to fully pay back any of these loans. And since she's earning about ₹25,000 every month, after taxes, bills, loans and everything, our family of three is left with only ₹10,000. And that's the only source of income in our family.

My sister is an architect. She did her UG degree from Jagannath University in Jaipur. She's also preparing for UPSC, but no success till now. My goal to become a CS engineer ensures that I'll get a decent job but that's 6 years away. And because I want to study abroad, I need to grow my ambition more and develop my brain for creativity and leadership. And the Yale Young Global Scholars Program, is the first step of my journey.

Campaign

The Yale Young Global Scholars Program is a summer academic enrichment and leadership program that brings together outstanding high school students from around the world for intensive two-week sessions on Yale’s campus in New Haven and the Yale Center Beijing in China. It brings out the best in you. Creative thinking, leadership development, ambition growth, etc. This program also unites students from all around the world to work together as a team, build projects that require students from different streams.

For the past few days I've been thinking about applying for it. I read a story about an Indian boy, from Kanpur who cleared the tough admitting process and received full scholarship into Massachusetts Institute of Technology. I read his story so many times that I can recite it now.

MIT? That's the dream college. My goal is to study Computer Science and Robotics Engineering (because of interest) and hopefully do a startup in this field. But the fees of these universities is a number that does not appear, even in my dreams.

But the Yale Young Global Scholars Program can build my spirit and help me in developing leadership skills. But even if I get full financial aid, my Mom would not be able to afford me going abroad.

Utilisation

All the funds that I recieve will all be used for my education only. Fees for coaching next year, the Global Scholars Program, and if enough, then for my college education later.

Your support is all I need

I can't just sit here and watch my mother take loans she knows she won't be able to pay back. My effort will be a million percent, my priorities are sorted, and I'm ready. But the only thing I need now, is your support. I can't do this all by myself.

Contact

I don't have a personal phone, and I don't use Facebook. But here's my email:

[email protected]

I need help. All the help you can give me. All it takes is a little push to start a chain reaction. In my life, this is the push. And the final result after the reaction will be me, writing the names of all of my supporters, by hand, on a wall.

Of my million dollar mansion.
