Global Finals 2016 – St. Bonaventure Structural Team (Grade 8)

STRUCTURAL CHALLENGE for 2016: "Musical Mashup"

After months of hard work and determination, the team competed and placed 2nd at the GTA Regionals. This qualified them for Provincials where they placed 2nd! With this standing, they learned that they would advance (with the 1st place team) to represent Ontario, Canada at Global Finals in Knoxville, TN.

St. Bonaventure is proud to have a total of 5 teams that qualified for Global Finals this season - two Gr 6 teams, one Gr 7 team and two Gr 8 teams.

Global Finals is the culminating event of every Destination Imagination season. Teams from over 15 countries come to participate with 8000+ students.

The Destination Imagination program is a fun, hands-on system of learning that fosters students’ creativity, courage and curiosity through open-ended academic Challenges in the fields of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), fine arts and service learning. Our participants learn patience, flexibility, persistence, ethics, respect for others and their ideas, and the collaborative problem solving process. Teams showcase their solutions at a tournament.

DONATION INFORMATION: As you can appreciate there is considerable cost to support these teams. Your donations on this site are not tax deductible but would contribute fully to this Gr 8 Structural team's transportation, event registration and activities, accommodation and meals, during the week-long event at the University of Tennessee. By donating directly on this site, your support would be applied directly and immediately to our Gr 8 team.

Should you wish to receive a tax receipt (Canadian), they can be issued for contributions over $50 (cheque only) by the Toronto Catholic District School Board. However, the cheque would have to go through the TCDSB (specific details need to be on the cheque). This option would distribute your contribution over all 5 teams from St. Bonaventure.

For US donors requiring the tax ID for deduction, donations are accepted by cheque mailed to Destination Imagination directly and can be directed to a specific team (details need to be noted on the cheque).
