Campaign Story
Gizmo is a Shetland sheepdog puppy (6 months old). Today (13 July 2018) he was diagnosed with patent ductus arteriosus (congential heart condition). We have scheduled the surgery for Friday, 20 July 2018, but we have a hard time covering the cost of the surgery and post-op care since we spent the little savings we had on Gizmo's brother (Bilbo) health problems few months back. Generally, as the doctor said, life expectancy with the mentioned diagnosis is 1 year from birth.
The surgery can either go very well, in which case Gizmo should not have any consequences (as his heart is still not enlarged, but is at the upper limit), or it can be fatal (the blood vessel connecting the pulmonary aorta and the artery is very delicate and if it starts to bleed during surgery then there is no chance of him making it).
On top of everything, we are expecting a baby mid December so can't afford taking out another loan and the overdrafts are maxed out (as is usually the case when u live in Croatia).
We would really like our future daughter to have a chance to meet Gizmo and don't want Bilbo to lose his brother as they are inseparable.
We simply adore both of our Shelties and can't imagine life without either of them.
It is with a heavy heart I'm asking your help, but simply don't have another option at the moment. I'm willing to refund each and every one of You (potential donors) as soon as I will be able to.
I'm also attaching the examination results from today's ECHO and ultrasound from the Veterinary university, Clinic for internal diseases in Zagreb. If anyone wants, I can arrange for the official translation of the results to English.
