Just recently a mother found out that her 11 year old daughter was sexually abused by her father. She was told that the children (her 11 yr old and her 8 yr old son) were placed in foster care and that Child Protective Services would not disclose their location. A distraught mother contacted her attorney to let him know what was going on with her children (she has been fighting since 2007 but most recently in January  w/ her attorney when they were removed and placed in Foster Care). Her attorney instructed her to file with the courts a change of custody order. The mother knowing she didn't have the extra money to give her attorney went ahead and told him to file the motion. The mother tried calling everyone she knew to borrow the money from so the kids would not remain in the foster care system and she could bring them safely home to live with her. Regretably no one she knew could help her. Meanwhile the two younger children are in foster care she has no contact with them, she is scared and worried for them.

Two weeks into the ordeal the attorney gets a date on the docket for a hearing. The mother drives to where the court date is and the attorney tells her he needs to get paid but he is still going to represent her for the hearing because of the severity of the case with the children. The mother and her friends had set up a car wash for that Sunday and was hoping she would get a substantial amout to give him. The hearing was stressful because the judge had ordered the ex-husband to appear before her. The mother wondered why she would ask him to the hearing but never the less she was granted temporary custody of the children and fro CPS to immediately turn over her children.

While waiting for CPS to call her and tell her to come and pick up her kids the detective that is working on the case contacted her and asked her to go to his station so he could speak with her. She was anxious wanting to know what had happened to her daughter but not wanting to know. The mother had found out that the sexual abuse had started in 2006 when the little girl was 6. She had also been told that there was some sort of sexual penetration in 2011 and that her ex-husband was also being charged with 2 counts of child neglect which he was indicted for that day. The dectective asked her not to speak to the family of her ex-husband because they were interferring with the investigation. The mother agreed and expressed to the detective that they would not have any contact with her children at all!!!

The mother received the call to pick up her children and they started the drive home. The next day the mother set up couseling for her daughter and this is where we are today. Because the crime happened in another state the couseling services for her and her family will have to go through her insurance and she still has not been able to gather the money to pay for her attorney. The mother is a hard working woman that wants to provide for her family but needs your help. We all know this family but if you don't please have some compassion for them. The cost of her attorney and the couseling will put a strain on the mother and her children which is something they really don't need right now. I am asking you donate whatever you can to help them out.
