Alhamdulillah, Ramadan is upon us now and it is a special month of the year and during this special month, Muslims around the world observe fasting from sunrise to sunset. This year Ramadan will be very different due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In order to minimize OR eliminate the community spread of the COVID-19, the large gatherings of worshipers will not be held at mosques or other places. Muslims will offer prayers with their families at their homes. There won’t be breaking the fast (Iftaar) parties this year. Unfortunately for hundreds of thousands of families, they will not get the chance to spend this spiritual time in a warm home with nutritious food to break their fast. While this is a reality every year for many, the COVID-19 Pandemic and the lockdown situation has only made matters worse. The poor and daily wage workers can no longer make a living to put food on their tables during Ramadan. They are in even more need of help during this time of hardship and blessed month. Please donate to provide Food bags for such families so that they can spend the entire Ramadan in Ibadah and receive nutritious food for Iftar and Suhoor.

According to a hadith, Ramadan is a month of blessings, in which Allah (SWT) sends down Mercy, decreases sins , and answers prayers. In it, Allah looks at your competition (in good deeds) and boasts about you to His angels. So show Allah goodness from yourselves. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), as narrated by Tabarani.

Every year during the Ramadan, Rahbar Foundation has delivered food packages filled with nutritious items such as rice, flour, cooking oil, daal, potatoes, onions, Red Chilli Powder, dates, sugar, milk, and more to reach people that have absolutely nothing. Our Volunteers and coordinators have spoken with families begging for help and have helped raise them out of their unfortunate situation. Rahbar Foundation also has hosted iftar dinners throughout the month of Ramadan. Last year we were able to serve thousands of people in various cities in India with warm, nutritious meals. But this year due to COVID-19 we have decided to provide cooked meal packets for Iftar instead.

You can sponsor one Food bag for $50 for a family of 4 for one month. One can sponsor as many bags as you can. Also, you can provide Cooked meals to 100 people per day with a $100 donation. Please donate your Zakat and Sadaqah to feed the poor, widows, orphans and the homeless.

Cooked Meals for Iftar: Per day

• $100 for Cooked meal to feed 100 People
