Give your Marriage a Second Chance Retreat

Me and my husband were married in 1991, and had a good life together. in 2013, our lives were rocked by marital issues, and we were on the brink of divorce. At rock bottom, we found the Lord, and accepted Jesus Christ as our savior. We fought through two hard years of rebuilding trust in each other, and fighting the demons that try to tear apart a marriage.

One day we were talking, and we realized that God had gave us both a vision of what we are to do with our lives. We are to open our hearts and our home to help other couples who are in, or are headed to, a similar train wreck that we survived. We have 200 acres in Tennessee that we are purchasing from a neighbor, and on it we plan to build a retreat where couples can come and unwind in nature. be removed from the world and refocus on the things that are really important to make a marriage work.

We plan to build several small cabins, a main group meeting area, an extensive nature trail, ponds that will offer fishing, swimming, kayaking, or just relaxing. We plan to include meals for the couples who stay, and plenty of interaction and Biblical counseling. Teaching that submitting to Christ is the key to joy. And to love your spouse as Christ loved the church. We also hope to be able to expand our retreat as time moves along if God moves us to take in other groups or people who need help.

We are asking for donations to help us along this project. We have the money to purchase the land and retrofit the first facility but to accommodate couples correctly we could really use help.
