“Give to Live & Beat Breast Cancer” for the Elena Villafranca Medical Fund

Firstly i want to say that this is so unlike anything I ever thought I’d do - I don’t like to ask for help! But, things have gotten to a point that I am willing to do anything to keep my best-friend alive and for her to be able to be with her family.

Her name is Elena Villafranca and she is 53 years old. In 2017 she was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Breast Cancer. She and her family were torn and completely shock of the diagnosis including myself. She immediately needed to go through rounds of chemo and surgery to remove breast tissue and all lymph nodes. At the end of all that she was told that she had a complete response to the chemo and, as far as they could tell, all traces of the cancer were removed from her body. Unfortunately, the cancer came back. Less than a year after finishing treatment Elena started to become sick again, retaining fluids in her stomach which led to the discovery of a tumor that was later tested as cancer.

Now to my reason for raising money - Elena's family are her absolute world. She has an amazing husband who supports her every single day and attends every appointment with her. He is truly her knight-in-shining-armour. Together they have 3 children that mean the world to her. Like any parent, your dream is to be able to be there to guide and watch them become responsible adults and to be able to hold your first grand child. Her thought of leaving them is not something you are ever prepared to face at any given moment.

As I mentioned before, Elena's Breast Cancer is aggressive and unpredictable and there are currently no other treatments for it except for chemotherapy and medication which she is scheduled to start on December 11th.

My hope is to raise enough money to allow her to receive chemotherapy treatment and all other needed medical attention and/or alternative treatments and hopefully, give her some more time with her family. I am under no illusions - I know that this cancer MAY win but we must fight to not let that happen. We still have a chance to provide that hope and needed support for Elena to WIN this battle, but we just need more time. Time for her to make memories with her children and family, with US.
