GIVE SO OTHERS CAN LIVE

Team work development cooperative was established in 2014, it was basically formed in order to work with farmers in reducing rural poverty and improve livelihoods through agricultural interventions in the form of sunflower out grower scheme.

In this out grower scheme we as teamwork development intend to be giving out free sunflower seed to rural farmers in order for them to cultivate, then we will be buying the production from them as a way of empowering them. Currently we have 260 farmers who are in our data base, on average each farmer has two extra members of the family, so when we multiply 260 farmers by 3 we get 780 individuals who will benefit from this out grower scheme.

Currently our target farmers live in extreme poverty such that they are not able to meet the basic needs such as proper food, decent shelter,healthcare and education for their children. Due to high poverty levels these farmers are not able to produce enough to cover for their basic needs this is why teamwork development cooperative developed the idea of a sunflower out grower scheme to support farmers production by giving them free sunflower seed then after cultivation and harvesting teamwork development buys the sunflower production in order to empower the farmers. This will help farmers increase production leading to increased income as well as reduced poverty levels.

We feel this is the best way to empower the farmers because we will give them the necessary skills and support to grow sunflower and at the end buy the production from them.

The success of this program or project will be measured through improved farmers sunflower production and improved farmers income as well as improve standard of living through access of proper food, shelter and better education for their children.

In order to achieve these goals, we have to raise $260,000.we really need the support from our donors and well wishers. Empowering farmers is the most important investment to end world hunger and poverty. We believe every farmer in our community deserves a better life.
