Climbing Kilomanjaro for the Rhinos

My Sister and i will be climbing Kilimanjaro in 2019( around August) and would like to raise funds for a non profit organisation called Rocking For Rhinos. Rocking for Rhinos is a very special organization that combines the love of music with conserving and protecting our beautiful wildlife.

We will be filming a documentary on the road to our summit,as well as behind the scenes of how much effort these beautiful people put into this amazing organisation!

"it’s 2010. The alarm goes off for the first time in decades. A staggering 333 rhinos illegally killed for the ignorantly perceived value of their horn. It is now six years later and the alarm bells are ringing louder than ever. Founded in January 2012 by rhino warrior Gareth Putter, Rocking for Rhinos is an organisation dedicated to the abolishment of rhino poaching and the saving of this beautiful and iconic species.

Our primary aim is to provide the general public with a real opportunity to contribute to this necessary cause through attending the Rocking for Rhinos music festivals and tours, events which fuse good music and conservation in order to give these magnificent creatures a voice. Our sole purpose is to do absolutely everything we can to help in the fight against rhino poaching. This includes spreading awareness and putting pressure on local and international governments to create change.
It is the responsibility of each and every South African citizen to put an end to the senseless slaughter of one of our country’s most majestic animals.

To date, over 50 well-known local artists, including bands and DJs, have performed at our annual Rocking for Rhinos events, some of which include Facing the Gallows, Fuzigish, Justin Serrao, CrashCarBurn, Locnville, aKing, Chris Chameleon, Francois Van Coke, The Kiffness and Straatligkinders. These events have taken place in both Hoedspruit and Johannesburg."
