Care and Development Initiative is a non government organization working to improve livelihood opportunities through promoting education health and agriculture. Recently Cdi works to support children with disability to attain education.
Children with Disability are among the most vulnerable and marginalized groups in Tanzania. Rates of Children With Disability attaining education in Tanzania are low. Only 0.3% of school-enrolled children have a disability.
There are several factors contributing to this low rate such as Poverty, stigma and discrimination by communities and schools; physical barriers e.g. lack of assertive devices and inaccessible school infrastructure, teachers struggling due to lack of knowledge and materials; hidden disabilities hindering learning; & insufficient effort from state actors to apply disability policies. Gender discrimination further compounds the exclusion of children with disability in education. As a result, Children With Disability are the last to be enrolled and the first to drop out. Lack of access to this basic human right curtails life chances, perpetuating the poverty and exclusion cycle for People With Disability.
We are requesting any support from all over the world to support this project for any amount or physical things. your 1 dollar buys pair of socks, 5$ buys a shirt for disable children. with the money that you see is very little can put smile to the children with disability. Remember the amount you donate can do big things in Tanzania.
