Give Edgar a Chance

My 7 month old kitten Edgar has not been well and not acting himself lately and this past week was diagnosed with FIP, which is a fatal virus in cats. Sadly, not much is known about this disease but the vets have told me Edgar could be with us for only a few more weeks or up to a few more months. There isn’t a confirmed cure. As I am sure you can imagine, it has been a really rough time. Edgar is not currently suffering but he is eating only a little, is very lethargic and has a swollen stomach. The idea of loosing this sweetheart of a cat absolutely breaks my heart.

He is currently on steroids and antibiotics to help him as much as possible and hopefully this week, pending a positive confirmation of FIP, will be either have an ultrasound to look at the fluid in his stomach and be put on interferon which may help him go into remission or (maybe) recover. The vet has said there is only a 30% chance of recovery.

Obviously, this is a huge financial punch so I am setting up a crowdfunding campaign in hopes that people will donate to help offset these medical bills and allow me to provide him the best chance at recovery or at least make his last few weeks as comfortable as possible.
