US$0.00raised of $450.00 goal goal
Imagine: your child is very ill and you lose your home and everything to pay the cost for medical care.
That's what happened to Abdur Razzak from Bamoil, a village in the rural areas of Bangladesh. Thanks to the donation of a 1We Rickshaw he is now able to earn an income for his family. They moved to a better house and his children are going to school.
Abdur’s story is not the only one. The 1We Rickshaw project offers deprived people like him a better life and thus a brighter future for the next generation of this very poor country. With something as simple as a bicycle taxi 1We - One World Experience gives people through a microcredit the possibility to empower. In Bangladesh a rickshaw is a very important means of transport which offers families a basic income. Unfortunately for the poorest the costs are too high. Often they are handed over to rental companies who bargain them to a suffocating contract, with all the financial consequences.
Official contract
With the 1We Rickshaw project 1We - One World Experience gives these people a chance. The rickshaw drivers, the so called ‘pullers’, have a contract with 1We. Under the supervision and guidance of a 1We Buddy they pay back half of the purchase price of their bicycle taxi within two years. The repaid amount will be invested in expanding and strengthening our projects in Bangladesh.
Recycled bicycle taxis
Old bicycle taxis will be completely recycled. The result are almost brand new rickshaws in the purple/orange 1We-colours. Moreover the (company)name of the donor will be immortalized at the back of the rickshaw*. You will receive an official certificate with a photo of the family which you support.
