Give a dog a better life

Hello there, My wife and I were walking in a park just west of Calgary and we heard a very faint whimpering sound.  I thought that I was hearing things, but she heard it too.  We had a look around and didnt see anything, and the sound seemed to have stopped.  As I walked towards a bushline, I caught a glimpse of a bunch of blood and found a very scared and injured dog.  He had a huge gash on his back and it didnt look healthy at all.  Its front leg was fractured and the bone was visible, and its fur was a big matted mess of dirt, blood, and feces.   I ran back to the truck and grabbed a blanket from underneath the rear seat and a bottle of water, and headed straight back to help the poor animal.  He wasnt too happy about me wrapping him up in the blanket, and if he wouldve had the energy, i'm sure he would have bit me a few times.  We got him back to the truck and headed for home.  We cleaned him up as best as we could and cut all the matted hair off of his poor body and cleaned and dressed his wounds, and then headed in to the vet.  We got the necessities done and that bill was 1600 dollars.  With the economy the way it is, I really dont feel comfortable forking out that kind of money, but I couldnt let the poor dog suffer anymore.   His Leg needs surgery and for now it is immobilized in a splint.  The surgery has got to be done for this guy to have a fair chance at a happy life, but unfortunately I have put myself out far more then I am comfortable with.      Please find it in your heart to help us raise the money to have his leg repaired.  Any help will do and if enough people can make a small donation, it will all add up and get us that much closer to our goal.   Thank you very kindly and god bless!!!
