Hi everyone! My name is India Hunter and I am a current Masters Student at the University of Pittsburgh. I was born in raised in Dayton, Ohio and my focus of study is Public Health and Social Work.
On May 27th, 2019, my hometown Dayton/Trotwood was hit with record breaking tornadoes. While most people survived, the damage done has shaken my city to it's core. Thousands of people lost their homes and cars, and thousands more are still without water and power.
My city has pulled together to support each other in this time and everyone is working diligently to pick up the pieces that remain. The amount of love that everyone in my city is exhibiting and experiencing is unmeasurable and I created this fundraiser to do my part from afar. I would be remiss if I didn't do all I can to help out the people and the City that raised me.
So, I have started the "Give $6 for Six" Campaign to raise money for six families who have lost their homes to these disastrous storms. The families I am sponsoring are:
McDonald/Johnson Family: Family of four
L Jones Family: Family of Four
K Jones Family: Family of Five
Sims Family: Family of Five
Johnson Family: Family of Five (their son has Hirschsprung's disease, so donations will likely cover his medical needs as well)
Milliner Family: Family of Two
We are looking to raise 700 for each family. ALL PROCEEDS WILL BENEFIT THE FAMILIES (will the exception of the fundraising platform fee: estimated 6.9%).
I am asking that each donor gives 6 dollars ( because it's catchy 😂) or whatever you can. This means if 700 people give JUST 6 dollars, we can reach the goal for each family.
This campaign is a way to pull the boarder community and the Dayton community together. Please donate, share, or both!
Bless you all,
India Renae Hunter
