Ging Tirasol is a beautiful 54 young chef, daughter, sister and loved by many. In August 2018, she was diagnosed with sudden onset stage 4 metastatic edenocarcinoma with metastases to lung, pleura, bones and lymph nodes by National Cancer Centre Singapore(NCCS)
A prognosis lifespan of one year, hopefully longer, is possible with chemotherapy of Alimta (pemetrexed) to be administered every 21 days. Unfortunately being back home in Iloilo, Philippines since 15 December, we were made aware that the drug is not readily available and had to be procured at an exorbitant rate. As such, we have made arrangements with NCCS to prescribe and hand carry the drug via air travel for her.
Ging also permanently requires 2L oxygen per min at all times. A medical oxygen tank for domestic use, as well as, a portable oxygen concentrator is needed for her movements to the hospital.
What is important is Ging's quality of life from here on and we want her to be as comfortable although it has been difficult physically for one in her condition. We would like to thank everyone who has helped in so many unthinkable ways to get us here. There is still more we must do!
