Ibrahim Morla Alhassan a Ghanaian entrepreneur who went into Scampi shrimp farming a few years ago, now managing 2,000+ acre farm in Ada, Ghana.

The Origins of Ghana Shrimp

The former version of Ghana Shrimp, Dan’sma Company Limited was incorporated in 2003 and is changing it's name name to Ghana Shrimp Limited in 2021. The Aquaculture business is located at Wasakusegwa in the Ada East District of the Greater Accra Region of Ghana to raise black tiger shrimp, Penaeus monodon, also known as prawns.

he project started in 2016 and was to build shrimp production ponds with water piped from a Volta Lake Canal created in the locality and a Lagoon. Targeted production from the completed 2000 ponds will be 12,000 tons per annum.

The beautiful lagoon provides a healthy and valuable workplace for many workers at the shrimp farm.

Start-up will be rapid; production can begin immediately with the first harvest and sales in the fifth month of operations.

Export

Shrimp eggs from wild stocks are readily available in Ghana’s coastal waters. High quality, specialized feeds for the tiger shrimp will be imported from Viet Nam. The product will be quick frozen on site in preparation for later export.

The final product is a delicious shrimp that so many people enjoy everyday.
