GETTING TO THE FINISH LINE. . . .

        I am in this "Marathon of Life" and trying to get to the finish line of this leg of the race.  I am a father of 2 beautiful children and the main provider for my family.  About a month and a half ago I lost my job and since have not been able to receive unemployment benefits.  I was very fortunate that I was able to find a really good job opportunity 2 weeks into my search.  However this job does not start until the end of August.  With what funds I had saved, my girlfriend's part time job, and some family and friends, we were able to make it through the month of July without any major setbacks.  As we are approaching the middle of August, we can finally see some light at the end of the tunnel. Except now, after treading water for a little over a month, it is becoming increasingly difficult to stay afloat. 

         At this time I am reaching out and asking for any financial assistance available to help my family and I reach the finish line at the end of this month when my new job starts.  With both checking accounts now overdrawn, I am $250 in the negative. The electric, gas, and water bills have not been paid in almost 2 months and we have not been able to honor the payment arrangments that we put in place to keep these utilities on.  On top of the car note not being paid, I have struggled to keep gas in the car, making it difficult to run errands and complete the hiring process in order to be able to start my new job at the end of the month.  I am graciously asking for donations to help my family and I maintain and survive through the August.  I have set a goal to raise a minimum of $1500, which would cover the basic necessities and hold us over until I can start work again.  However any and all support is greatly appreciated, and there is no donation amount too small.  It is all going towards trying to "keep the lights on".

        I do not have much to offer in return; if you have any odd jobs that might need to be done, or know of some fast short-term work that you or anyone you may know has to offer I will gladly accept.  I am also not opposed to paying monies back at a later date if that is necessary.  I greatly appreciate anyone who has taken the time out to read this and any and all assistance that may come from it.
