Getting to a Theatre Masters

Hello there!

My name is Andrea van der Kuil and for the last five years it has been my dream to study a theatre Masters degree in the Netherlands. I am theatre designer, clothing designer, writer and dancer. I love the arts - particularly theatre - and have always dreamt of creating breathtaking sets and costumes for the stage. While I have given myself space to let this dream and my ideas percolate, the time has finally come.

I have submitted my proposals and applications, proceeded to the second round, engaged in the interviews and been accepted. After a long and painstaking time of decision making I have chosen the course and school that would suit me and my dreams best and that is the MA Theatre Practices at ArtEz in Arnhem, in the Netherlands.

ArtEz is the top theatre school in the Netherlands and I feel unbelievably privileged to have been accepted. I am excited to get there and work as hard as my father taught me how!

Apart from the course's hard work, however, I do need a little help from you. While I have managed to keep afloat as a freelancer in South Africa during this pandemic, paying for an entire Masters course in a different country may prove to be a bit more difficult... This is why I have started this crowdfunding project.

I acknowledge that this time is strenuous on us all, that's why any donation towards my funding will be immensely appreciated. This total is for the course alone, so I will also still be hustling as hard as possible to pay for accommodation, food and materials.
