Getting an education at UWC Dilijan

So... Hello! My name is Sophie, I'm sixteen years old and I'm going to start my IB experience this September.

The main purpose of my life is to become a psychiatrist and help people with their mental disorders. In Russia where I am from these kinds of ills are considered to be frivolous and shameful. Therefore, lots of people in my country don’t receive help on time. We have a terrible statistics on psychological problems and suicide cases among all society sectors. A few years ago I started to research this question and realized that in Russia we have a strong problem. Our people don’t believe in psychiatry.

Well, I want to help people all over Russia and all over the world. I don’t know how many persons around me and around all of us need help but I want to be one of the heroes who lets them live a happy normal life.

Unfortunately, I can't get my medical education in Russia, because here we just don't have any extensive modern psychological or psychiatric services. The level of our training of psychiatrists is very low.

That's why I've entered the UWC college in Armenia. UWC can make me able to cooperate with young scientists and doctors at the international level without language and geographic barriers. If I have this kind of experience, I will be more successful in developing not only Russian science but also a worldwide system of the surrounding world knowledge.

This IB program suits me perfectly and it will help a lot in the future. But I don't have enough money to make my dream come true.

Now I need 21100 dollars to pay per two years and my family just doesn't have that much money.

At this time I am looking for a part-time job and don't hope for a full fundraiser. But any cent will help me fulfill my dream.
