Getting a Camera for Better Guitar Videos

I am Richmond, a fingerstyle guitarist who managed to start a YouTube channel last year. I cover pop songs and anime mostly with my own arrangements using fingerstyle. (You can check my YouTube videos)

The Reason

I wasn't able to get a camera as all my allowances from national service are being saved for my future studies in NUS because I did not want to trouble my parents financially. I have been recording the videos with a Samsung Note 5 and it while it does the job, it lacks in quality (depth of field, lighting, sharpness, frame rate).

What I Would Do With The Funds?

I would use the funds for getting a mirrorless camera. Extra funds would be used to get camera or guitar equipment. With such amazing and kind people out there, I would not misuse them for other purposes other than to better my YouTube video content.

With a proper mirrorless, I could make better looking videos and record outside without worrying about the memory (of course when the Covid 19 situation gets better). More importantly, I could make better looking and smoother videos so that people could be watch and follow my finger patterns to learn the songs I am covering easily. I want people to be inspired and learn that guitar can be more than just strumming the 4 basic chords to a tune.

Aspirations

I hope to share better videos with everyone who have came across my channel. I know I have lots of room for improvement, ie. recording techniques, playing skills, video editing and even getting good raw footage. I want people to enjoy the essence and flexibility of fingerstyle guitar and hopefully inspire some to pick up the guitar.

With a proper camera, I believe that it would not only increase my video quality, but enable others to appreciate my covers more.
