In one single breathe Jessica Gaine and Storm Rodger had their worlds turned upside down
Jessica Gaine my dearest friend and her partner of six years received some of the most devastating news in the past week. As a human, this is some of the worst news one could expect to hear.
Jess has been diagnosed with Stage IV Melanoma, it has metastasized, into her pelvic bone, into her knee and her shoulder. On top of this she also has 4 malignant melanoma lesions on her back.
Rewind one week before these news. And my two closest friends were preparing to start a family, had just signed a lease for a new home and Jessy's DREAM of being a mother was on the horizon. Storm is a holistic chef and founder of a conscious business (Jessy's Partner). Her buisness empowers underprivileged people by training them into becoming conscious chefs. She has also set-up various conscious restaurants in Cape Town
So...how do I know these beautiful people? They took me in during a really difficult period in my life. Jessy in the most angelic way nurtured me and gave of herself as well as her home with a selflessness that I had never encountered before and Storm began coaching and equipping me with tools on how to thrive and follow my dreams. Not one of them expecting anything in return.
I am just one case where they have done this for people before. Storm goes out into the world and HELPS people by giving them a plan to help navigate the world. I have watched Jess literally WITHOUT A SINGLE HESITATION give, of everything she is, they continue to help and love countless strangers. They always leave Jess and Storm's care, happier and more connected to love; joy and belonging than when they first walked in.
We now find ourselves here, and they need our help. Jessica's Diagnosis IS dangerous and we need to act fast. This particular type of cancer is very aggressive and uses the blood to travel to various parts of the body. So we need to act fast!
The way forward is with an incredibly effective treatment called, immunotherapy. This is what our Jessy needs!
