Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! My name is Valerie and I am fortunate enough to be selected to represent Australia in the Kettlebell World Championships in Ireland, November 2015.

I will be joined by three other athletes who train under our coach; “Kettlebell Jess” Wadd in New Farm, Brisbane. Our Coach, Jess will be also be representing her Country for the second time!

Why support me?

The Kettlebell Jess Crew are passionate believers in the kettlebell as an amazing tool to help people reach health and fitness goals and their personal potential! We are so grateful to be representing our country in the sport we love, and we would like to take this opportunity to promote kettlebells for fitness, sport and fun and encourage people of all ages, shapes and sizes to experience them! This is only the third time Australia has been represented on the global scale and we are proud to be pioneers of the sport for our country!

Being a young sport in Australia, athletes must cover the costs of their flights, accommodation and all meals in Ireland, as well as our uniforms. In addition many hours and dollars go into training, coaching and all the preparation we must undertake to compete at the highest level! Any assistance would be greatly appreciated and your support will certainly help motivate us to do our very best for you and Australia!

What’s in it for you?!

For every $5 you donate you will receive an entry into a MEGA RAFFLE where we have a bunch of prizes up for grabs including:

  1. 60 minute massage from the Essential You (Value $60)
  2. An interior or exterior paint consultation including full specifications by A Colour Specialist (Value $299)
  3. 60 minute Individual or Corporate Goal Setting Session from Ulimit Coaching & Development (Value $199)

  8. Kettlebell Jess Shirt (Value $25)
  9. Bootcamps Australia 1 month membership (value $80)
  10. 30 minute massage courtesy of Physio on Brunswick
  11. + more to be announced AND lucky door prizes on the day of the raffle!

In addition, all supporters will be invited to a special BON VOYAGE Brekkie with Team Kettlebell Jess! At this FREE event you will get to experience kettlebell lifting under the watchful eye of the Australian representative athletes before enjoying a healthy breakfast! This will be a gathering where we can farewell the local Australian Team and wish them luck! The raffle will be drawn on the day and there will also be lucky door prizes!

WHEN: 8.30am- 10.30am, Saturday 7th November. *workout optional, breakfast will be served around 9.30am J

RSVP: By 31st October.

We will be in touch closer to this event!

How is my donation counted for the raffle?

Each $5 (AUD) donated counts towards a raffle ticket. This means if you donate $20, you get 4 tickets in the raffle. All names and donations will be tracked by myself. Each ticket will be printed prior to the morning of the raffle and the details of the prize will be sent to the winner.

Do I have to attend the brekkie to be eligible for the prize?

No, as long as your donation was not anonymous and I can contact you, you do not need to attend the breakfast. However we would love it if you did, as you will get a great understanding of what we do, get an amazing free healthy breakfast and be in the running to win some further prizes.

The prizes are very Brisbane based, what if I donate but I can not take the prize?

Your donations are greatly appreciated, and we hope to raise money above and beyond people who can partake in the raffle and breakfast. If you donate, but know you can not use the prizes on offer, we would appreciate if you could write a note in the donation stating that you will not be entering the draw.

We wish we could over more far reaching prizes, however these prizes have been very kindly donated by the local businesses around Brisbane, and as such, are aimed towards Brisbane residents.

Finally, what is Kettlebell Sport?

Although Kettlebell Sport is relatively new in Australia, kettlebells can be traced back as far as the 1800s where they were used to train Olympians and Eastern European strongmen. Also known as Girevoy Sport, it emerged in Europe over 60 years ago and is gaining popularity internationally!

During the sport, athletes perform either the snatch, or the long-cycle (clean and jerk) or a bialthon of the snatch and jerk. Sets are for 10minutes, where as many reps as possible are performed with only one hand switch. Personally I will be competing with a 16kg Kettlebell in the snatch along with two of the other competitors, our coach, Jess will be competing with 24kg in the snatch event and one other with be competing in the veteran category with 12kgs, also in the snatch event.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
